Having served as partner at a national law firm and the chief litigator of a major railroad, Charles Trippe brought a wealth of diverse legal experience when he joined the firm in 2001. Since then, he has concentrated on complex civil litigation.
During his career, Mr. Trippe has prepared and tried complex cases, advised corporate and government leaders at the highest levels, and managed complex litigation in many jurisdictions. In his first 15 years of private practice, he focused on securities, antitrust, intellectual property, breach of contract and product liability litigation. He was named a partner of Jones Day (New York) in 1990. In 1994, he joined CSX Transportation, Inc., rising to General Counsel-Litigation, managing and directing the company’s complex and high-risk litigation.
In 2011 and 2012, he served as General Counsel to Governor Rick Scott. Mr. Trippe represented the Governor in constitutional litigation, advised him on a wide variety of issues, served as the chief ethics officer for the Executive Office of Governor, and liaised with the general counsels of executive agencies on many difficult legal matters.
