Tom Sullivan practices civil litigation and dispute resolution in state and federal courts. He defends marine, insurance, and other business clients in commercial and personal injury cases, as well as state and federal regulatory matters.
After developing litigation expertise as an associate and later as a partner with the Firm, Mr. Sullivan served for a number of years as in-house counsel at St. Joe Industries, later The St. Joe Company, where he handled a variety of corporate and litigation matters in the transportation, manufacturing, and development industries. These included class actions, commercial, employment, and intellectual property cases. Since returning to the Firm, he draws upon this experience in advising clients in litigation, business, and regulatory matters. Mr. Sullivan is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a circuit court civil mediator.
Mr. Sullivan is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis (1977) and the University of Florida College of Law (1985), where he was a member of the Law Review. While on active duty with the U.S. Navy, Mr. Sullivan served as a deck officer and as ship's navigator aboard a guided-missile cruiser, completing extended deployments to the Western Pacific, the Indian Ocean, and the Mediterranean Sea.
