During more than 50 years of practice at the firm, Jim Moseley tried cases in state and federal courts and counseled clients on a wide range of matters. He was one of the country’s leading authorities on maritime law and a past president of the Maritime Law Association of the United States.
In his private life, Mr. Moseley served many national and local civic and charitable organizations. Among his awards and honors were the Palmetto Medal Award issued by The Citadel Board of Visitors (2001) and the United States Coast Guard Meritorious Public Service Award (1998). He was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army Reserve in 1958, and served on active duty from 1961 to 1963, attaining the rank of captain.
Mr. Moseley published for many years on the subjects of maritime and admiralty law, railroad labor litigation, insurance coverage, and civil practice.
