Our attorneys counsel clients on business, corporate and trust and estate matters. We maintain close relations with many national law firms, often partnering with them in major litigation throughout the state.

Because of our prominence in the world of maritime commerce, we maintain close and long-standing ties with clients and colleagues throughout North America, the European Union, Latin America, and Asia. A Part Of Jacksonville History

As one of Jacksonville’s longest established law firms, our origins were in maritime and railroad transportation law, which were the mainstays of the city’s industrial economy in the early years of the twentieth century. As Jacksonville has grown in population, and its economy has multiplied in both size and complexity, we have kept pace and have expanded well beyond our original areas of practice over the decades.

El Modelo Cigar Factory Plaque

Our Building

The firm is headquartered in the historic El Modelo Cigar Factory, built circa 1887. It is a National Register of Historic Places site, cited by the Jacksonville Historic Commission as one of the few downtown structures to have survived the Great Fire of 1901.

A classic example of late nineteenth century commercial construction, the building was visited by the Cuban patriot Jose Marti in 1893, where he rallied workers to support the Cuban cause. It also housed the Plaza Hotel on its upper floors until the early part of the twentieth century, and had various occupants before and after the Second World War. Purchased by members of the firm in 1983, it was extensively restored and remodeled, with a soaring atrium and modern office space. It stands as a Jacksonville landmark, in close proximity to the new Duval County Courthouse.
